Congratulations to all award winners at the Beutenberg Campus Science Awards 2026 👏 We are honored to share the award for excellent interdisciplinary collaboration with our partners from Leibniz-Institut für Naturstoff-Forschung und Infektionsbiologie - Hans-Knöll-Institut and Fraunhofer IOF. 🎉 Developed together within the InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena, the platform for rapid detection of microbial antibiotic resistance is a strong example of how interdisciplinary translational research can contribute to faster and more targeted diagnostics. 🏥
Once again, interdisciplinary collaboration leads to award-winning science 🤝🏅 We are delighted to have been recognized at the Beutenberg Campus Science Awards 2026 yesterday. Presented annually, the awards honor outstanding researchers in life sciences and physics. This year, they highlighted excellent research across the Beutenberg Campus — from G protein-coupled receptor signaling and anthropogenic nitrogen in the climate system to faster diagnostics of antibiotic resistance. A special reason to celebrate for us at the Leibniz-HKI: Together with partners from the Fraunhofer IOF and the Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien, our team received the award for excellent interdisciplinary collaboration. By bringing together microbiology, biotechnology, photonics and bioinformatics, the project developed a high-throughput platform that can detect microbial antibiotic resistance within 1 to 2 hours — a promising step toward faster and more targeted treatment decisions. Our warmest congratulations go to Martina Graf, first author of the award-winning research, and all co-authors. On behalf of the team and all team members who could not attend the ceremony in person yesterday, Anne-Sophie Munser, Marc Thilo Figge, Miriam Rosenbaum and Elke Müller received the certificate. Finally, cheers to all award winners 👏 and a big thank you to our partners. We are proud to show what successful interdisciplinary science can achieve. 💪 Curious about the award-winning research projects? Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/dh6dV-5N
