Another donation to a very special beneficiary! 🫶 The Jenoptik donation was used in Easter projects of the Tasifan Children’s Circus in Weimar, Germany. For a week, children had the chance to get creative with paints, fabrics, wood, and much more—regardless of whether they had previously participated in the circus or not. 🎨 The generous support of our colleagues made it possible for the children to participate free of charge. Thank you! #MoreLight

This week, we participated in the #Photonics Future Summit (Zukunftsgipfel Photonics) in Berlin. Once again, we saw firsthand how key technologies from photonics, optics, and lasers are driving major fields of the future, including semiconductor manufacturing, quantum technologies, medical technology, and AI. In his speech, Dr. Ralf Kuschnereit Kuschnereit, Member of the Executive Board of Jenoptik AG, reflected on the strengths and challenges of Germany’s photonics industry: ➡️ Photonics drives the global economy – it powers AI‑data centers, renewable‑energy tech, biotech, quantum and space systems. ➡️ however, Photonics needs mor visibility – politicians, investors and the public often see only the end‑products and not the underlying photonic technology; raising awareness is crucial for further growth, funding and talent attraction. ➡️ Defense & security reshape the photonics field – it accelerates innovation that later benefits civilian markets. ➡️ Geopolitical instability is now the norm – fragmentation, protectionism and supply‑chain disruptions require open markets, secure supply chains and collaboration. ➡️ Community is the catalyst for innovation – networks of researchers, industry, and investors (e.g., Zukunftsgipfel Photonik) are vital to keep photonics at the forefront of future growth. Thank you to the organizers, SPECTARIS Photonik and OptoNet e.V., and all attendees for the valuable insights and open dialogue. We’re taking many ideas with us and look forward to shaping the photonics industry of tomorrow together. #Photonics #Zukunftsgipfel #MoreLight #Optics #Laser #Semiconductor #Quantum #AI #Innovation

We are truly delighted that we were able to support Circus MoMoLo with a #donation from our colleagues in #Jena for a special youth exchange. 🎪 Initiated by young people, teenagers came together to perform circus acts, get to know one another, and learn from each other. Through these programs, Circus MoMoLo creates a space where young people can try new things, discover their strengths, and surpass their own limits. A big thank you to all colleagues who donated and continue to support local charities and associations! #MoreLight

We're happy to report that Jenoptik had a strong start in 2026 with very high demand in our OEM businesses, particularly from the #semiconductor equipment industry! 📈 Revenue was still slightly down on the prior year, but profitability improved. And our Executive Board confirmed the #guidance for 2026. Discover more facts and figures below 👇 and in our press release: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dchQqeZh #MoreLight #finance #photonics

As of today, April 30, the #photonics community has a new little hero ... The scientist Ernst Abbe is now available as a Playmobil figure—complete with all the accessories; the little magnifying glass actually works and magnifies. It’s a wonderful idea and brilliantly executed don't you think? ❤️ We’ve placed the new figurine on the rooftop terrace of the Ernst Abbe high-rise in Jena. We are proud that our origins also trace back to the work of Ernst Abbe. The Ernst Abbe high-rise has been our headquarters since 1996; until 1991, it was the Zeiss administration building. Construction began in 1934, and it opened in 1936 (hence also known in #Jena as Building 36). The previous, smaller Zeiss administrative high-rise had to make way for the new building at the time, but it was precisely the place where Ernst Abbe often worked and where his desk stood. The physicist Ernst Abbe (1840–1905) developed the diffraction theory of microscopic imaging and, together with Carl Zeiss, thereby laid the foundation for the scientifically sound manufacture of microscopes. He was an innovative entrepreneur and, as a partner of Carl Zeiss, also a progressive social reformer. Jenoptik emerged from the "VEB Carl Zeiss Jena" combine in 1991 and we are proud of our shared strong #history in #optics in Jena and of being part of the larger Jena network. A big thank you goes to the team of Timo Mappes from "Deutsches Optisches Museum" (D.O.M.) as the initiators and implementers, as well as for their successful release today! Bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures were the perfect setting for the #Jena team run last Friday. A total of 27 Jenoptik teams participated in groups of three, with each runner covering a distance of about 2.5 kilometers. 🏃🏃🏃 Our fastest teams finished in 16th, 22nd and 58th place overall. Fantastic results! Congratulations to all athletes! 👏 A total of around 1,500 runners participated together for a good cause. This year, the proceeds will benefit Kinderdialyse Jena e.V., Sternfahrt Jena e.V., and the Diabetes Center for Children and Adolescents e.V. #TeamSpirit #MoreLight #JenaerTeamlauf

We're not getting tired of speaking about #sustainability!🌱 Dialogue and change begin with courage and willingness to listen. In #Jena, we created a space for this with our "Ask Me Anything" session on sustainability on the occasion of #EarthDay on April 22. Our sustainability team, Katrin, Lena and Andreas, emphasized the importance of transparency, both to showcase initiatives of all sizes and to critically evaluate our processes. Moreover, the winners of our internal sustainability competition shared their real-world experiences with ♻️ resource-efficient production, 🌞 green energy, and 🗑️ reducing waste. Sustainability is a team effort and doesn't always require significant investment. These steps demonstrate our commitment to society and the environment, and are a cornerstone of our success. Our conclusion: We need to continue to talk about sustainability, and even more so, focusing on where we are already practicing it and where we can still improve. Thank you to the participants for their openness. And, of course, thank you to Nadine Reinhold for being a wonderful host (2nd from right). #MoreLight

#AI is rapidly becoming an integral part of everyday #business. To actively leverage this #transformation and shape this change, we established our very own "Jenoptik AI Academy" with academic support from professors from the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena (University of Applied Sciences in Jena). The Jenoptik AI Academy is an internal learning program designed to equip our employees with AI knowledge and skills relevant to their daily work. The first Academy took place recently in in Jena, Germany. Thank you to the participants for a lively, inspiring exchange and to the organizers and facilitators, such as our Corporate Innovation Partner team! #MoreLight #ArtificialIntelligence
