How do you move a transformer that helps power 135,000 homes with renewable energy? By rethinking logistics from end to end. This transformer’s journey from Türkiye to a wind and solar hub in the Netherlands was anything but routine. When permits stalled and traditional routes were blocked, our Industrial Projects teams redesigned the entire transport plan. The solution became a multimodal operation involving coastal shipping, inland waterways, heavy lift cranes up to 700 tons, and a specially engineered trailer. Through close collaboration across borders and with trusted partners, the transformer arrived on time and ready to connect renewable energy to the national grid. This project shows how logistics enables progress. By overcoming complex infrastructural challenges, we help make the energy transition a reality. At DHL, supporting New Energy solutions is a key growth area, and projects like this demonstrate how expertise, coordination, and determination turn ambition into impact.
