We’ve been working on something smaller, quieter and much more focused. From April 16th to 18th we’re hosting a Ramen pop up in Berlin Neukölln entirely built around fermentation, umami and time. This is not the Berlin Ramen Festival. This is the lab behind it. It is also a community gathering. A space to bring people together around craft, flavour and shared curiosity. We’re working with our own ferments, including 3 different Shoyu approaches and 4 house made Garums, translating months of development into a reduced and very precise menu. On the menu: • Shoyu Ramen built on multiple house made Shoyus and Garums • Triple Mushroom Ramen as a fully plant based, fermentation driven bowl • Small plates and drinks designed to support and extend the umami profile We’re doing this together with friends and partners who share the same mindset around craft and fermentation. BOUCHE • Kombucha brings in a layer that perfectly complements the concept, rounding out the fermentation focus with their own approach and products. With Sun Noodle, we’re working on the foundation of every bowl, making sure texture and quality hold up to the depth of flavour we’re building. Our friend Dr. Bastian Schwithal from Go-Sake is providing his award-winning sake for some modern drink twists. The idea is simple: strip everything back and focus on depth of flavour. For us, this format is also a testing ground. A way to explore how our work can live beyond the festival in a more intimate and curated setting. One that feels especially relevant for collaborations and brand experiences. If you’re curious to see what we’re building, this is the place. The FUTURE OF FESTIVALS 2025 brought two days full of inspiration and meaningful conversations for Karsten Kandziora and Robin Heisterhagen. 🚀✨ Thank you to the team around Till Schröder and Robert Stolt for the smooth organization and to STATION-Berlin for providing such a fitting and welcoming venue. 🙌🏽 We came with two main goals: 1) Finding a suitable festival software 💻🔧 A system that helps us scale and connect with our visitors and vendors before, during, and after the festival. Thanks to Dennis Meiland & Theresa Freienstein for walking us through the CM.com software. Shoutout to Hannes Wagner and Paul Lampe for the steady coffee supply and for introducing us to Fairoo with its impressive next-level CAD features. And last but not least, thanks to the festiware team for presenting their key opportunities in what was probably the shortest Q&A we’ve ever had — sorry again for dropping by so last-minute. 😉 Not to forget Nico Frick & Stager , planmyfestival.co and Festival Pro who helped complete the picture of what’s currently possible in the industry. 🔍 2) Optimizing our sustainability concept 🌱♻️ Many thanks to Vytal Global, Viritact and AKU GmbH & Co. KG for providing valuable insights into modern reuse systems and circular solutions. It was also a pleasure meeting Vanessa Esslinger from ProjectTogether and learning from her experience with Labor Tempelhof sustainable event execution — as well as gaining inspiration from our neighbors Tomorrowland w/ Anouk Winant in Belgium, who already implement many innovative approaches. 🌍 The panel talks and 360° stage tied everything together. 🎤🔄 They offered important insights into how to reduce friction in the cleaning process, increase visitor awareness, and strengthen our circular systems. We’re proud to be part of the group pushing sustainable festival operations forward. For us at the Berlin Ramen Festival, these two days were a great opportunity to gather ideas for 2026, exchange perspectives, and reflect on how we can continue improving — especially around sustainability and smarter event processes. Thanks to everyone we met and had the chance to talk to. 🫶 After two insightful days, we’re heading into the next planning steps. 🙏✨ Martin Hussain Leonie Gerner Jule Kauert Tristan K.R. Wir freuen uns sehr auf den Austausch 🙏
In Japan, there is a saying: Shokuyoku no Aki (食欲の秋) – “autumn, the season of hearty appetite.” Our next #OpenMonday on September 1 will therefore focus on "food". 😋 The program includes a tasting stand featuring soy sauce by the KIKKOMAN TRADING EUROPE GMBH, a lecture “The ramen scene in Berlin” by the Berlin Ramen Society, organizers of the Berlin Ramen Festival, and a video screening “すしを愛でる/ I love Sushi” (supported by The Japan Foundation / Japanisches Kulturinstitut Köln). Partner events such as Ikebana and board games will also be offered. Find more information about the full program on our website: DE: https://lnkd.in/eGfVxUAf JP: https://lnkd.in/e29Jv-U3 We look forward to your visit! #OpenMonday #JapaneseFood #BerlinEvent #JDZB40
