Growing through change! My finance journey at VAT 📈✨ I joined VAT Malaysia in 2019 as an Accounts Payable Accountant, just starting my corporate journey. Not long after, Covid-19 changed the way we worked almost overnight. Our team had to digitise processes quickly to keep operations running and that challenge became the starting point for so much growth. Since then, my role has expanded far beyond AP. I have supported the D365 implementation, worked across functions, contributed to the setup of Global Business Services, and gained valuable experience in automation, analytics, and continuous improvement. What made this journey so meaningful is VAT’s strong culture of learning. Through training, leadership support, and hands-on exposure to digitalisation and new tools, every challenge became a chance to build confidence and grow. Today, I see finance as much more than numbers. It is about systems, technology, teamwork, and helping the business move forward. That is what makes it so exciting. My advice to new joiners: stay curious, ask questions, and keep learning. Yesterday, we gathered for more than just a shareholder's meeting — our Chairman of the Board of Directors, Martin Komischke, and CEO Urs Gantner shared a strong message of confidence, momentum and a clear view of what lies ahead for VAT GROUP. At our 10th Annual General Meeting at Olma Messen St. Gallen, nearly 450 shareholders joined us in person, a powerful sign of engagement and trust. Together, we reflected on a year of solid performance, discussed what lies ahead, and reaffirmed our ambition to continue shaping the future of vacuum solutions. We also marked 10 years since our IPO, a decade during which VAT Group has delivered one of the strongest share price performances on the Swiss market. All motions proposed by the Board of Directors were approved, including a 12% increase in the dividend to CHF 7.00 per share — a clear signal of confidence in our strategy and execution. The meeting also marked a personal milestone: after many years of dedicated service, Hermann Gerlinger stepped down from the Board of Directors. Since 2017, he has helped shape VAT with experience, clarity and strong commitment. Thank you for your lasting impact. A journey built on trust, learning, and teamwork 🌍💡 When I joined VAT Group as an IT Business Consultant, my focus was on delivering reliable, business-aligned IT solutions. Over time, that role has grown into something much bigger. Today, as a IT Software Development Manager, I help shape IT strategy, guide global teams, and work closely with stakeholders to connect technology with long-term business goals. What made this journey possible is the culture behind it: trust, support, and a strong foundation of integrity, teamwork, customer centricity, and innovation. Looking back, I am especially grateful for the opportunities I have had to grow, not only in my role, but also as a leader. Working on complex, real-world challenges, learning continuously, and being part of an environment where ideas are valued has made this journey incredibly rewarding. My advice to new joiners: stay curious, take initiative, and embrace challenges. Growth does not happen by staying comfortable.
