A new partnership between the JP Centre and D2Type Health will test a first‑of‑its‑kind digital diabetes support tool that will help up to 300 adults across the Interior stay connected to care between appointments. The JP Centre is partnering with D2Type Health to test implementation of the D2Type Health app in five to six Interior Health community and primary care clinics, including urban, rural, and remote locations. The project is funded through $850,000 from Innovate BC, through its Integrated Marketplace program, with Interior Health Authority participating as an Adoption Observer. The app helps people living with pre‑diabetes and Type 2 diabetes track everyday habits that influence their health—such as food, activity, sleep, and mood. A clinician interface gives care teams visibility into patient progress between visits, supporting more coordinated care. The platform also has the ability to integrate with electronic medical records. For people in rural and remote communities, regular access to care can be challenging. Tools like this can help patients stay on track and help care teams see when additional support may be needed. The JP Centre will coordinate the project, lead evaluation, and bring partners together to understand what works and what could be scaled in the future. Together with D2Type Health, and with Interior Health Authority observing the test, we’re generating the real‑world evidence needed to guide responsible scale‑up across the Interior. Thank you to Innovate BC for funding this work, and to D2Type Health for partnering with the JP Centre on this project. #DigitalHealth #DiabetesCare #HealthInnovation #BCHealth

A New Partnership to Strengthen Health System Learning Through Lived Experience The JP Centre for Health Systems Learning + Innovation is pleased to partner with Not Just One Voice, https://lnkd.in/gZPgC558, a BC‑based initiative creating space for patients, families, and point‑of‑care providers to share their experiences navigating healthcare. These stories offer important insight into what supports people, where challenges emerge, and how systems can learn and improve. Not Just One Voice gathers and analyzes patterns across lived‑experience stories from communities throughout the province. This work highlights opportunities to strengthen care while supporting both patients and providers. As Founder and CEO Desiree Thring notes, each experience is unique and equally important, and learning from these experiences is essential to improving the system. Through this collaboration, insights from lived experience will help inform system‑level learning and quality improvement efforts across BC. As Dr. Deanne Taylor, Founding Executive Director of the JP Centre, shared, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to listening to the voices of people who experience healthcare every day and supporting the translation of those insights into meaningful learning. Not Just One Voice will continue engaging communities through storytelling initiatives, community conversations, and aligned partnerships. More information about opportunities to participate will be shared through their upcoming public engagement activities. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with Not Just One Voice and look forward to supporting this work as it continues to grow across the province. #Notjustonevoice #PeopleCentredCare

Red Dress Day / Honouring MMIWG2S+ Today, we honour Red Dress Day, a day of remembrance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+). This day calls us to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonial violence and to stand in solidarity with families, communities, and Nations who continue to carry this work forward. The red dress has become a powerful symbol of the lives taken, the families and communities forever changed, and the urgent need for safety, justice, and systemic change. Today, we honour those who are missing, those who have been taken, and the loved ones who continue to seek answers and healing. There are many ways to participate in Red Dress Day: - taking time for quiet reflection - learning about the National Inquiry’s Calls for Justice - attending community gatherings or marches - amplifying Indigenous voices and Indigenous‑led resources that honour community knowledge and leadership - wearing red to show solidarity Across the Interior region, Friendship Centres and community partners are hosting events and marches, and all are welcome to join. We encourage our partners, colleagues, and communities to take part in ways that feel meaningful and grounded. As a Centre committed to equity, learning, and system transformation, we hold ourselves accountable to ongoing reflection and action. Today, we honour, we remember, and we recommit to creating safer, more just systems for Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people. Every step toward understanding and action matters. #RedDressDay #MMIWG2S #TruthAndReconciliation

Reflections from the Co‑Design Lab for Research Collaboration and Learning Health Systems Grateful for the time, insight, and generosity shared at the Co‑Design Lab for Research Collaboration and Learning Health Systems. Bringing people together from across Interior BC’s research and innovation ecosystem created space to reflect on how we work, where our mandates intersect, and what supports are needed to strengthen collaboration across the research‑to‑action continuum. The conversations reinforced the importance of relationships, shared purpose, and coordinated approaches that honour community leadership and local context. These are the foundations of a learning health system, and they shape how we move forward together. Thank you to everyone who contributed their experience and perspective. Your voices are helping inform a clearer, more connected path for collaboration across the region.
