Meet Suz Damphousse, Quality Auditor – Lab at Resilient Structures, who has been part of the RS team for 18 years. In her role, Suz supports testing of resins and raw materials, including DSC and glass fraction testing, while working closely with our Chief Chemist and Project Engineering team to support product development and innovation. Suz began her career on the production floor and gained experience across multiple roles before transitioning into quality auditor. Her background gives her a strong, well-rounded perspective that supports both product performance and continuous improvement. She takes pride in contributing to product development projects and values the relationships she has built with her team over the years. Outside of work, Suz enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors, especially riding on the back of a Harley-Davidson. Guided by her favorite quote, “This too shall pass,” she brings a positive and grounded outlook to both work and life. We appreciate Suz’s dedication and the impact she continues to make at RS.

Wildfire prone regions present a serious risk to traditional utility infrastructure. Intense heat and flames can ignite and weaken wood poles, increasing the likelihood of structural failure and widespread outages. Damage to surrounding vegetation and nearby structures can further compromise pole integrity, putting reliability at risk when it’s needed most. Building a more resilient grid starts with infrastructure designed to withstand extreme conditions. Reach out to us at info@resilient-structures.com to discuss how our composite poles deliver long term value and enhanced reliability for your grid. #WildfireMitigation #GridResilience #Utilities #ResilientStructures

The grid buildout doesn't happen without the infrastructure to build it. Two AHG clients — Resilient Structures and TS Conductor — made major domestic manufacturing announcements in the past few weeks, and together they tell an important story about where the energy industry is headed. Resilient Structures celebrated the grand opening and production launch of its Houston manufacturing facility in Humble, Texas, where the company produces high-performance composite utility poles. The facility will help utilities accelerate grid hardening efforts, while improving delivery timelines and reducing reliance on global supply chains. TS Conductor opened its second US manufacturing plant in Hardeeville, South Carolina — a $134M investment that increases production capacity of their next-generation advanced conductor by up to 10x in its initial phase, with room to scale to 20x. High-performance conductors like TS are one of the fastest, most cost-effective tools available to add capacity within existing transmission corridors. Both companies are betting on the same insight: the grid can't be modernized without the domestic manufacturing capacity to support it. Utilities need these technologies at scale, they need them fast. Building the production capacity to deliver that — here in the U.S. — is how it's getting it done. Proud to work alongside both teams.

Resilient Structures has opened a new 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Humble. The company, which manufactures composite utility poles, has owned the site for a few years but has focused on assembling poles its makes in Utah and Canada. Now, by the end of the year, RS will be able to manufacture around 12,000 poles a year at the Humble facility. The facility is supported by long-term supply agreements with CenterPoint Energy.
