Strong governance. Smart people. Sustainable AI outcomes. As AI adoption accelerates, the focus is beyond the technology, what really drives outcomes is clarity, accountability, and sustainable implementation. At JTS, we wrapped up a great session on AI Compliance and Governance last week with a fantastic group of professionals eager to understand how to use AI responsibly, while unlocking real business value. During the session, we explored:  • Practical compliance guardrails for everyday AI use  • Protecting sensitive data and managing regulatory risk  • Clear escalation triggers when AI use requires review  • How structured governance supports confident, responsible adoption    What stood out most was the thoughtful dialogue around real-world scenarios, reinforcing that compliance and governance aren’t barriers to innovation, but the foundation for it. We are excited to continue building a strong foundation for confident, compliant, and responsible AI use. When the right people come together, meaningful work follows.  Last week’s in-person JTS Soiree reminded us what strong relationships can build. The strength and depth of the JTS ecosystem was on full display: long-standing and new clients, current partners, consultants we’ve worked alongside for well over a decade, and some we hope to welcome into the fold. Within minutes, the room was humming. The conversation was natural, focused, and grounded in a shared commitment to delivering better infrastructure programs through strong relationships. What stood out most was how seamless it felt. Conversations picked up where they left off and new connections formed easily. Canada’s infrastructure environment is placing accelerating demands on how projects are planned, coordinated, and delivered. For teams responsible for turning policy direction into built outcomes, the question is increasingly how data and digital tools can be used in day-to-day decision-making, not as standalone initiatives. Digital twins are an important part of that practical conversation in British Columbia, across Canada, and beyond.   At JTS, much of our work involves embedding alongside owners, utilities, and delivery teams to help integrate digital tools into real programs, from early planning through execution. That context shapes how we think about digital twins, not as an end in themselves, but as a way to improve coordination, manage risk, and support delivery across complex infrastructure environments.   Recently, Theresa "Tess" Eriksson, COO and SVP of Service Delivery at JTS, attended an event in Vancouver marking the launch of a new Digital Twin paper, alongside an engaged audience of public and private sector leaders. The discussion focused on what it takes to move digital twins from pilots and proofs of concept into approaches that meaningfully support project delivery.   Key takeaways from the discussion included: • Digital twins create the most value when they are tied directly to real decisions and delivery challenges, not treated as standalone visualizations. • Technology and visualization are only the starting point. Governance, data quality, and integration into everyday workflows ultimately determine whether digital twins are useful in practice. • Adoption remains the biggest hurdle. Cary brings a rare blend of infrastructure expertise, deep relationship-building experience, and a natural storytelling instinct that aligns seamlessly with how we think about our ecosystem, our communities, and the systems we are building to support our children and our children’s children.   Cary comes to JTS with more than 10 years of experience building strong connections across the infrastructure landscape. He has shaped enterprise-wide stakeholder relations and industry strategies at Infrastructure Ontario, and led a first-of-its-kind jurisdictional strategy for Accenture’s emerging Infrastructure and Capital Projects division.   Before entering the infrastructure sector, Cary led full-scale PR for Canadian television icons like Amazing Race Canada and Battle of the Blades, traveling across the country and meeting people from all walks of life. Her work has centered on diagnosing organizational needs, strengthening collaboration, and creating systems where people feel valued, connected, and empowered to do their best work. This people-first approach, grounded in trust and shared ownership, makes her a natural fit for the ecosystem we are continuing to build.   Outside of work, Marianne is most at home courtside. A lifelong basketball fan, she rarely misses a game, especially when her kids are the ones sinking the shots. When she is not cheering from the sidelines, she is exploring new places with her family and turning every trip into a memorable adventure. Recently, JTS had the opportunity to curate a panel at the Canada's Rural and Remote Broadband Community (CRRBC) conference in Kelowna. The session, “Breaking Ground with Digital Twins: Unlocking Data to Build Smarter, Faster, Safer” brought together an outstanding group of voices including our own Theresa "Tess" Eriksson as moderator with panelists Jacqueline Spray (BC Hydro), David Pickett (Pardal Ventures), and Jennifer Refvik Querin (JTS Consulting).   The discussion explored how digital twin thinking can help communities plan and coordinate infrastructure in smarter, faster, and safer ways.
