FERMA is pleased to publish the Sustainability-Linked Insurance Principles (SLIPs): a new voluntary framework designed to support the development of credible, consistent, and transparent Sustainability-Linked Insurance solutions across the market. As Sustainability-Linked Insurance continues to evolve, the SLIPs provide practical guidance for designing, implementing, and evaluating SLI solutions, while helping strengthen market integrity and stakeholder trust. Built around a practical 5️⃣step approach — from selecting KPIs and setting sustainability targets to reporting and independent verification — the framework aims to support insurers and risk managers in aligning underwriting practices with sustainability objectives 🌱 🎯 . Today, FERMA and WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development are proud to launch Open Sesame: a joint initiative focused on unlocking financing for climate resilience. The initiative is supported by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), acting as secretariat to the initiative. Bringing together leaders from risk management, insurance, finance and sustainability, the initiative aims to accelerate the development of a new framework enabling organisations to invest proactively in preventative and adaptive climate measures before climate-related events strike. As physical climate risks continue to grow, strengthening resilience is no longer only a risk issue: it is a strategic investment priority.
