What matters more – what’s in the body, or how a driver is functioning? Part 2 of our Technical Paper Series on Intoxication explains why chemical thresholds don’t always reflect real‑world impairment, and how Driver Monitoring Systems offer a more direct, real‑time safety solution. 📄 Read the paper here: https://hubs.ly/Q04d0xbG0 #RoadSafety #DriverMonitoring #Impairment #SeeingMachines

That’s a wrap from the 28th ESV Conference in Toronto, Canada. Seeing Machines was well represented throughout the event as our team met with regulators, safety advocates, researchers, OEMs, and other stakeholders from around the world. Visitors to our booth got an opportunity to see firsthand how our technology can now detect impairment, including impairment from alcohol. This, combined with existing fatigue and distraction detection technology, means our system can detect the vast majority of human behaviours which lead to serious vehicle crashes. As part of the conference, new research from Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) revealed that Driver Monitoring Systems benefit cost ratio of 22:1 over 30 years is firm evidence that DMS is the technological equivalent of the seat belt. At #SeeingMachines, we believe everyone has a right to get home safe. In support of Australia's National Road Safety Week #NRSW, we encourage you to pledge to #DriveSoOthersSurvive: https://hubs.ly/Q04bT8HN0. We can all take steps to improve #roadsafety such as removing distractions before we drive, obeying the speed limit and road rules, and choosing not to drive while tired or under the influence.

#Distraction and #fatigue continue to create serious, often unseen dangers on Australian roads. Insights captured by our #Guardian solution reveal just how frequently these risks occur across real‑world fleet operations. Our distribution partner, AutoSense ANZ, are calling for drivers to reassess their approach to fatigue and distraction during National Road Safety Week which starts on Sunday. They will be exhibiting at the Workplace Health & Safety Show in Melbourne on 20–21 May with live demos of Guardian and free sleep assessments. 👉 Read more in this article: https://lnkd.in/gFTmQrDy

Day Three at the ESV Conference continues with technical presentations and networking. Our team has heard from researchers around the world presenting on the safety benefits of driver monitoring technology. We were proud to share our technology today with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute team, as we work together with our partners in safety to save lives and prevent injuries. #ESV2026 #Safety #SeeingMachines

Ground-breaking analysis like this reinforces why our mission matters. At #seeingmachines, safety is at the centre of everything we do, using advanced human-centric technology to help protect drivers, passengers and everyone around them. It’s encouraging to see results like these, not just as validation of the science, but as proof of real-world impact. DMS technology is no longer a “nice to have” but an essential - the seat belt of our generation. And like seat belts, their true value is measured in the lives protected every day.
Delivering a world first cost-benefit analysis of camera-based driver monitoring (DMS) at #ESV2026 in Toronto as part of a team led by Michael Fitzharris from the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC). Based on real-world crash data the cost-benefit has been assessed against the Euro NCAP - For Safer Cars, Vans & Trucks 2026 Driver Engagement protocol, proving the benefits of DMS to society are immense. The benefit cost ratio of nearly 22:1 over a 30 year fleet implementation period, for effective DMS, is nothing short of astounding. This is firm evidence confirming the promise that camera-based DMS is the ‘seat belt of our generation’. Let’s get on with saving lives and collectively look to accelerate global implementation. On a personal level being part of a team demonstrating this level of impact on society is a genuine highlight. Full papers should be freely available on the ESV Conference webpage shortly. It’s Wednesday at the ESV Conference and #SeeingMachines is proudly featured in several important studies. Our Chief Safety Officer, Mike Lenné, was a coauthor of a paper proving the cost benefits of Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) solidify the technology as a proven, cost-effective safety technology. Our DMS was also used in a VTTI and General Motors study showing that DMS helps improve Lane Keeping Assist technology by ensuring the system works when drivers need it most. Finally, Honda used our technology to help demonstrate how DMS makes other vehicle safety systems more robust. If you’re at #ESV2026, please stop by Booth #29 and experience firsthand how our system is improving #roadsafety.

The 28th ESV Conference is officially underway and Seeing Machines is here to showcase our latest occupant sensing technology. This morning we heard the latest crash statistics from across the world. While in general, deaths and injuries are trending down, we still have a lot of work to do. That’s why our technology is more important than ever to get people home safely. If you’re in Toronto, come visit us at Booth #29 and see firsthand how we are hard at work saving lives. #Safety #SeeingMachines
