Scams cost Australians over $2 billion last year, and money mules – accounts used to move stolen funds – are among the hardest risks to detect. Our team at Quantium Telstra has built a capability that combines Telstra’s network intelligence with banks’ data to surface mule‑activity patterns and close critical gaps. ANZ, NAB and Westpac are now trialling it. Shared intelligence reduces blind spots and strengthens defences, helping better protect Australians from financial crime.
Financial crime doesn't stop at industry borders - which is why working across them is becoming essential to detecting and preventing it. Today, Quantium Telstra is proud to announce that we have been working alongside Australian banks, including ANZ, NAB and Westpac, to trial a new capability designed to identify suspected money mule activity. Money mules remain a critical enabler of organised financial crime. Their behaviour can look like normal banking activity, making them challenging to detect. As demonstrated during this pilot, securely combining signals from the telco network with bank-side intelligence can significantly bring forward detection by up to 90 days earlier than traditional methods. The pilot reinforces a simple but powerful principle: when intelligence is shared across sectors, blind spots shrink, detection improves, and criminals have fewer places to hide. We are proud to work alongside our banking partners on this initiative and look forward to expanding collaboration across both the financial and telecommunications sectors as the capability evolves. #scam #fraud #financialCrime

Tonight we kicked off something special. Quantium's Peter Tonagh, Adam Driussi and I are leading a trip in San Francisco with a remarkable group of CEOs and decision-makers from Australia's top companies. Over the next few days, we're meeting with our partners at the forefront of AI: Andreessen Horowitz, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Menlo Ventures, OpenAI, Perplexity AI, and Zoom. This trip is about making sure Australia's leading organisations stay at the front of the AI transformation wave. Brad Banducci at Ticketek Entertainment Group, Virginia Briggs at MinterEllison, Frank Calabria at Origin Energy, Matt Comyn at Commonwealth Bank, Matthew Dickason at Hays, Lisa Harrison at Suncorp Group, Dig Howitt at Cochlear, Matthew Stanton at Nine, Rachel Yangoyan at Qantas. #AI #AIStrategy #EnterpriseAI #AITransformation

Catching up on the events of last week after wrapping up our 2026 Graduate induction program this Monday! What a great couple of weeks it has been - made even better by the fact that Quantium has been named on the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) Top 75 Graduate Employers 2026 (Medium Program Category). This ranking is a special one given it reflects the experience created for our Graduates in our organisation. A huge call out to the graduate managers, technical communities, and senior leaders across the business who are passionate about developing our graduates as they forge their path at the start of their careers! Thanks also to our graduates who come onboard ready to embrace learning, take on new challenges and contribute to their teams and our company! #quantium #graduate #development

Our 2026 graduates have arrived, with new grads joining our Australia and South Africa offices. It's been a busy first week, getting across how Quantium uses AI and data science to shape decisions for some of the world's largest organisations – and meeting the people they'll be learning from. Engineering and Analytics bootcamps start next week, where they'll begin building the technical foundations to start tackling real client problems. Welcome to Quantium. We couldn't be more excited to have you on the team.

Great to chat with Sally Patten at the AFR on what it takes for companies to move from dabbling with AI to genuinely winning with it. The past few weeks have shown how quickly AI advances can reshape markets - when AI releases can wipe 30%+ off SaaS company valuations in a matter of weeks, it tells you something about the pace of change leaders need to be ready for. My view: this has to be CEO-led. Not delegated to IT. Not a side project. If the CEO isn't personally driving AI adoption and using it themselves, the organisation won't move fast enough. Full stop. Worth a read if you're thinking about how to accelerate AI adoption and transformation in your organisation. https://lnkd.in/g934ZvpU

Over the past few weeks, Quantium participated in Anthropic's Early Access Program, testing Opus 4.6 on complex enterprise work. What stood out wasn't just better outputs, it was working at a higher level of abstraction. On financial modelling, I could ask "what learnings from other industries might strengthen our assumptions?" rather than directing each calculation. It provided insightful cross-checks and maintained internal consistency as assumptions evolved. On front-end development, the prompt was "think about the logical flow as someone works through this process" and it intuitively restructured for better user experience. The practical difference: less time checking logic and correcting errors, more time engaging with strategic implications and assumptions. Work that took multiple iterations with other models completed on first attempt. For enterprises wrestling with complex AI implementations, the bottleneck isn't tool capability. It's whether your team can engage at the right level of strategic thinking while AI handles the complexity. #ArtificialIntelligence #GenerativeAI #EnterpriseAI #AITransformation #FutureOfWork
