Congratulations to Investa, Oxford Properties Group and all our project partners on the opening of Indi Footscray. It been a pleasure working a project that's so closely aligned with our own company vision of creating thriving communities that contribute to a sustainable future, with the project striving to achieve formal certified ratings of 5 Star Green Star Buildings and WELL Platinum Rating. Our team focused specifically on supporting Investa's vision for renter-first way of living by delivering services outcomes that matter to residents and operators: simple keyless access and amenity bookings, data‑led building controls, EV charging integration and portfolio analytics to support better service and decisions. Aside from being a great place to live, Indi is sure to have a positive impact on the surrounding community. https://lnkd.in/gE3CZzRh

Congratulations to our New Zealand team and project partners on an outstanding result at the 2026 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards last week. These awards set the benchmark for commercial construction in New Zealand and recognise something we value enormously - the contribution of the whole project team, not just the building itself. We’re proud to have contributed to 7 recognised projects: ⭐ Health National Category Winner – Allevia Hospital Epsom, Gilgit Wing ⭐Supreme Award over $10 Million, Civic National Category Winner and Value over $25 million – Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui, Wellington Central Library ⭐BIM Award and Commercial National Category Winner – Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga, Archives New Zealand ⭐Commercial Fit Out runners-up – BNZ HQ Auckland, FirstCape and Precinct Suites ⭐Infrastructure Project Award – Auckland Airport Transport Hub Each project reflects the collaboration and technical skill that sit behind great buildings. Congratulations to everyone in our New Zealand team who helped bring these projects to life. Watch out for project case studies which we'll share later on today.

40% below the energy target while safeguarding a nation’s memory. Te Rua Archives Wellington New Zealand, shows how sustainability strengthens stewardship. Conceived through a te ao Māori worldview and embodying kaitiakitanga at scale, this once-in-a-generation, 26,450 m², 10-storey civic precinct links to the National Library via a two-level bridge. Its purpose is exacting: protect Aotearoa’s most precious taonga - from Treaty materials to UNESCO-listed objects - and keep those stories accessible in a future of climate volatility and seismic risk. We’re proud of what the project is delivering. Te Rua holds a 5 Star Green Star – Design & As Built v1.0 rating. Operational energy is about 20% lower than design-stage predictions and around 40% below the performance specification. An envelope-first approach - low air permeability and high insulation - cut loads and enabled right-sized plant. Independent energy modelling has been validated in operation, while low carbon plant choices, heat pump domestic hot water, careful refrigerant selection and targeted submetering support continuous optimisation and decarbonisation. The result is enduring value for the client and community - lower emissions and lower running costs that sustain stable archival conditions and long-term guardianship of Aotearoa’s stories. We’ve loved being part of Te Rua Archives Wellington New Zealand, a career-defining experience for our team, and we’re grateful to our client, Dexus in partnership with the Department of Internal Affairs (NZ), and the wider project team for their partnership in making it possible. Our clients often face issues with stormwater when overland flow and surface drainage have been poorly planned. This is especially pertinent in tight urban areas during heavy rain events and can lead to: - water pooling - property damage - costly retrofit works and potential disputes. In many cases, underground systems are correctly sized for minor events but not today’s more extreme climate conditions. These issues can be resolved through effective mitigation strategies, including: - comprehensive modelling - setting clear surface levels - integration of various drainage systems. By addressing overland flow early, you reduce retrofit risk, protect neighbouring properties and improve approval certainty. Reach out if you'd like to know more.

For International Day of Light tomorrow, Saturday May 16, we’re reflecting on light as an enabler. Light shapes how we feel, think and act. It can make a place feel calmer or more alive. At NDYLIGHT, we work with light to support outcomes that matter to people and communities, from culture, belonging and wellness to collaboration, living, and connection. By understanding how people move through a space and what draws them back, we design lighting that helps places feel intuitive, inclusive, and meaningful. These images show a few of those moments – places where light helps create meaning.

Congratulations to Cbus Property on topping out 435 Bourke Street, Melbourne. Cbus Property set a clear brief: an all‑electric workplace that achieves a new benchmark in sustainable design. For 6 years we’ve worked side by side with Cbus Property and the project team to bring that vision to life. Together we designed the solar skin facade that integrates PV panels into shading elements. These PV shades block direct solar load, reducing the overall air-conditioning requirements, while producing energy to power the building at the same time. This has been a complex, rewarding engineering challenge and a career highlight for many of our people. There’s still more work to do, but we’ve loved the journey so far. Big congratulations to KONGSBERG Australia on achieving LEED v4.1 BD+C: New Construction Platinum for their Mawsons Lakes facility. Working with Tandem Building, we delivered a fully electric building that incorporates 99 kW rooftop solar, saves more than 60% of potable water against baseline through low flow fixtures and recycled GAP water, and significantly surpasses the ASHRAE baseline for energy performance. KONGBERG’s teams benefit from abundant daylight, efficient VRV air conditioning to office spaces, indirect evaporative cooling in work areas, EV charging, bicycle parking and materials certified to rigorous US standards. It’s a strong example of how careful coordination across disciplines can support complex operational needs while also improving energy use, water performance, occupant comfort and long-term value. Well done to the entire project team. You can read more about our work for KONGSBERG on our website: https://lnkd.in/gBXUWTzk
KONGSBERG goes Platinum KONGSBERG Australia’s Mawson Lakes Facility in South Australia has achieved Platinum certification under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (#LEED) v4.1 Building Design and Construction: New Construction (BD+C: NC) Category, the first in Australia to do so and in the top 10 worldwide. This is the highest level achievable and recognises exceptional outcomes in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, water conservation, responsible use of materials, and occupant wellbeing. The certification was awarded by U.S. Green Building Council, the representative of the latest and most rigorous global standard for high-performance, environmentally sustainable buildings. Do you know when to bring audio-visual design into a project? If your answer is after the design is locked in, it’s probably too late. That’s when compromises start - exposed cables, poor acoustics and clunky technology that drive cost and rework. Bringing AV in early changes the outcome. It becomes part of how the space works, enabling intuitive user experiences. We’ve unpacked what better integration looks like in practice. Link in comments.

Today, on Anzac Day, we pause to honour the sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand service personnel, past and present. We reflect on the values and the legacy they leave: courage, endurance, mateship and compassion. Their stories shape the communities we live and work in. We acknowledge the sacrifice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Māori and Pacifika peoples who have served, and who continue to serve. From our teams across Australia and New Zealand, thank you. We remember. Lest we forget.
