I've been thinking a lot about what it takes to develop a great client relationship in consulting. For me, it starts with the first page of a proposal. The moment a client thinks, wow these people actually get us. Not because of the formatting or the shiny logos. Because someone took the time to truly understand the problem and articulate it in a way that felt human. But most consultants I've spoken to never get to do this well. By the time they've chased CVs, copy-pasted slides and raced to the deadline, there's no time or energy left for the craftsmanship that actually fosters trust. This is why I built InsightWise. So the process stops getting in the way of trust. The consultants we work with don't think about a proposal as something to churn out and simply make more efficient. They see the opportunity to show a client they've truly listened, understood what's at stake and are already thinking harder about the problem than anyone else. If this resonates, I'd love to speak with you. https://lnkd.in/gRt5Qm6F

Matt Shumer's now-viral essay, “Something Big Is Happening,” has clearly struck a chord in consulting circles, along with more than a little fear-mongering. For me, the alarmist critiques of the piece miss the point. Consulting has weathered decades of disruption, because ultimately when complexity increases, the need for trusted advice intensifies too. Rather than signal the end of an industry, AI is forcing a fundamental rethink of how we define value in knowledge work. Away from the mechanics to which we previously ascribed value: the copy-paste deck, the recycled framework, the billable-hour utilisation. And placing a premium on outcomes: clear judgment, relationships and strategic decision-making. The opportunity isn’t to defend an embedded way of thinking, it's to reshape around what clients truly care about. In this value shift, discernment is critical, both in the advice we give and in the platforms we choose to enable it.

We're delighted to share that InsightWise is a Finalist in the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence in the category of Planning for a Digital Future 🎉 We strongly believe Australia is uniquely positioned to shape the future of consulting on the global stage. Australia has the right conditions not just to modernise consulting, but to redefine how insight, strategy and execution are delivered at scale. At InsightWise, we’re building the AI engine that enables this transformation: empowering consultants to delegate manual process (and drudgery!) and focus on expert judgment, creativity and impact. A huge thank you to our customers, partners and team who are making this future a reality with us 🙏

We’re seeing ambition outpace action. According to Infrastructure Australia's 2025 Market Capacity Report, the major public infrastructure pipeline has grown from $189 billion to $242 billion in just 12 months. On paper, that’s a 28% increase. But the composition of that growth is messy, reflecting a churn of projects being removed, added, rescheduled or re-costed. No firm is complaining about new projects coming to market. But for businesses trying to plan their workforce, increasing uncertainty in the short-term makes it almost impossible to prepare. Eyebrows will be raised at IA's forecast shortfall of 300,000 workers by 2027, including 126,000 engineers, architects and scientists. Consult Australia’s own Market Conditions Report tells a different story. Almost every respondent (97%) across all sectors reported having workforce capacity within the next six months. Some businesses have already redeployed staff, others have made resource cuts. This divergence speaks to the increasing disconnect between the aspiration of governments’ budget commitments and the reality of contracts delivering real infrastructure on the ground. A year ago, Y Combinator made a bold prediction: Vertical AI agents could be 10x bigger than SaaS. It was certainly a catchy headline. And it's real too. We've been building a deeply vertical multi-agent AI platform at InsightWise and we're now witnessing the transformative impact. Every day, we work alongside some of the sharpest consultants globally. Professionals who've spent decades mastering their craft, building expertise, and delivering outcomes that shift the dial. When these experts reclaim hours and hours from proposal drudgery and manual data crunching with InsightWise, they reinvest it where it counts: solving complex problems for their clients and creating lasting impact for communities. In our latest episode of Flash of Insight, I chat with Sarah Beaman from Strategic Reality, a consultant with decades of deep strategic experience. Sarah captures why building vertical, nuanced AI makes all the difference. As she puts it: "InsightWise really gets what I'm trying to do as a consultant. It nails it in terms of the specificity." If you've been looking for a platform that thinks, writes and wins like the world's top consultants, now's the time to jump onboard. • Thank you to Andrew Bird and the team at Foundstone Advisory for the opportunity to share our journey and vision for the future of consulting: InsightWise is the foundational operating system → purpose-built for top consultants → to scale human expertise at unprecedented speed → and amplify impact for clients and communities → ultimately for a future that's more human, not less. We're proud to have partners like Foundstone Advisory cutting through the noise to focus on true impact.

Snippets from our recent catch-up with Katherine Tobias, co-founder and CEO of InsightWise. They're emerging leaders in the Generative AI strategy insights space.   Check out the full conversation here https://lnkd.in/gFruexnF     It's refreshing to see a team working directly with clients & partners on longer-term, quality, and substantiated GenAI gains – not hyped-up quick fixes, gimmicks, or outlandish claims.   Recently closing an oversubscribed funding round led by venture capital out of California, including backing from Tesla Chair - Aussie Robyn Denholm’s family office and the Forrest family.   Built for strategy teams, consultants and executives - with clients including NSW Government, major for-purpose organisations and consultancies.   Qualitative data, market & sentiment analysis, evidence, and uncovering unique voices in strategy are some of their key differences from the vanilla-based GenAI platforms.   Katherine previously worked at KPMG, state government and global roles at VC-backed me&u.     We discuss:   🔵 Balancing GenAI analysis with clear human judgement and governance. 🔵 Open Strategy bringing effective oversight and guardrails for GenAI in the strategy process. 🔵 Why GenAI isn’t a silver bullet, but can fundamentally improve insights from qualitative data. 🔵 Global and local adoption case studies – and lessons learned. 🔵 How for-purpose and government organisations are applying the platform.

Back at my desk after experiencing a totally different frequency at the 2025 ALIAVIA Ventures Summit in the beautiful Laguna Beach. The US ecosystem doesn't do cautious: founders building fearlessly, investors backing bold bets and everyone moving with urgency. With all the AI hype, what remains crystal clear is that vertical, highly-tailored platforms are consistently delivering and winning. I'm energised to double-down on what we're building at InsightWise. Thank you to Marisa Warren, Alexis Versandi, Levi Aron and Janvi Patel for building this community. Connecting with Aussie founders making waves in the US like Dimitry Tran and Simon Molnar was invaluable. And to Craig Weaver and Vidit Agarwal, it was wonderful to speak alongside you on panels and share meals and car rides. Having such supportive partners on this journey makes all the difference.
