Updates

  • We recently came together in Melbourne to mark a significant milestone for RISE, a project building fairer pathways to leadership for women from culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) backgrounds. Through RISE, we've worked with 25 organisations across Australia to tackle systemic barriers head-on, strengthening racial literacy, conducting gendered racism audits, and embedding action plans that support sustainable change. At the same time, 360 CARM women in middle management were directly supported through mentoring, coaching, sponsorship, leadership programs and tailored career development. Thanks to our partner Settlement Services International (SSI): • 269 women took at least one step towards their career goals • 63 women secured a new role • 623 mentoring and coaching sessions were delivered • 19 networking sessions took place None of this would have been possible without the commitment of organisational leaders, project teams, executive sponsors, mentors, coaches and, most importantly, the participants who brought their insight, experience and ambition to RISE every step of the way. Thank you to SSI and Chief Executive Women (CEW), our funders, and everyone who contributed to making RISE such a meaningful collaboration. As this phase of RISE concludes, the impact continues in workplaces, leadership pipelines, and the conversations organisations are now equipped to have. 🔗 Learn more about the RISE Project and its impact → https://ow.ly/uJB950Z1Vp9

  • We welcome measures in the 2026-27 Federal budget aimed at easing cost-of-living pressures, supporting long-term economic productivity, and taking important steps to improve access to work for all Australians. However, we caution that Australia’s future prosperity depends on ensuring inclusion and equitable access to opportunity are at the centre of economic reform. Read our full statement below.

  • What would you do if you witnessed sexual harassment at work? New data from our Inclusion@Work Index Insights series, released today, shows nearly 1 in 4 workers would do nothing if they witnessed sexual harassment at work. The research also reveals something critical: workers in inclusive organisations are 2 times less likely to experience sexual harassment. If we do witness sexual harassment in the workplace, what can we do to prevent it from happening again? Being an active bystander can make a real difference. Together with Our Watch, we've released Being an Active Bystander, a free, practical resource to help workplaces prevent harm by supporting people to speak up, step in and support others. • The growing backlash over class inequality reveals a deep frustration over wealth, power and access. And while conversations about class often focus on society at large, class also shapes experiences at work. In Australia, economic inequality has reached a 20-year high. Class remains a powerful factor in determining hiring standards, promotion norms, ideas of professionalism and access to networks and mentors. Our research shows a strong case for creating class-diverse and inclusive workplaces – for both employees and for organisations 🔗 Explore our Class Inclusion at Work research to learn more about what workplaces can do to recognise and respond to classism and bias → https://ow.ly/8Mq150YVSPq

  • The business and people benefits of inclusion are undeniable, but inclusive workplaces don't happen by accident - it takes intention and the right tools. If you're not sure where to start, our Inclusive Employer Index can help you assess and monitor diversity and inclusion in your workforce, and it helps you to understand: your workforce's diversity profile where inclusion and exclusion exists the impact of inclusion and exclusion to business performance 🔗 Learn more and register your interest here → https://ow.ly/3HKz50YQnxf

  • We often talk about neurodiversity in the workplace, but most organisations still don't know what that actually looks like. Without data, it's hard to move from intent to action. That's why, together with Amaze, we've developed a practical resource to help you measure and report on workforce neurodiversity respectfully, anonymously and accurately.
